In God's Hands

    As I am on the first leg of this journey I realize that If I don't put this blog in Gods hands, It will mean nothing to Him or me.

    Indeed this blog is open to every one and all faiths. I must state that my faith is that of a very Christian nature. That said I am not using this space to preach. (There are several excellent sites for that!) There will come times that I will discuss faith as a matter of healing inside and out.

    The seeds planted in my heart to grow is health. I myself have been through many fires. After years of abuse (Smoking, Junk food, etc...) I have finally learned that  a car can be replaced when it dies but our body's can not.

    The good news is that unlike a car, with proper care and treatment, our body parts can repair themselves. I like to think of God as the mechanic and the plant world as the auto parts store. (Maybe all of this car talk will increase our population of male readers!)

    In the Bio section of this Blog I stated that I am not a Doctor and if you have a true medical condition please seek treatment from a caregiver that you trust. I am sure that most people would not seek medical care from a doctor that they have no faith in. There are many Doctors that I have much respect for and I am in no way trying to persuade anybody against the medical field. I believe that Doctors and drugs are for sick people.

    That said I know that there is a globe full of natural remedies and preventative resources given to us by God. The chief Doctor. I am here to suggest ways of health that I feel are the most powerful and the least harmful.

    And so I put this whole Blog in The Lord God's Hands to grow so that together Him, and Me ,and you will be as healthy as we can be!

Vegtable Soup that will cure what ails you!

    Much to my children's chagrin I will now tout the importance of straight vegetable soup. Whenever we have an illness or a body is plain sluggish, out comes the stock pot!

    I personally find it perfect for a mild detox fast. It supports the body as it builds and repairs. As we speak I am enjoying a bowl.

    Given the current Flu strains and scares that we read about and are experiencing, I feel that a vegetable fast is a great way to kick off the cold weather season.

    Here is what I do:

First I make the soup

 Suzy's Vegetable Soup

You will need at least 5 of the following. Organic if possible.

1 head cabbage

1 pound of carrots (I use baby)

1 parsley root or 1 pound of parsnips

1 pound of zucchini (my favorite)

5 stalks of celery

1 pound of peeled and blanched tomatoes

1 pound spinach

1 pound kale or swiss chard

Add to 1/3 pot of filtered water. Bring to a simmer. Never a boil.

To that add:

1 large onion chopped

2 minced or crushed garlic bulbs (about 20 cloves. Let it rest 10 minuets after crushing before adding it to the soup.

1 T turmeric

1 T cumin

3 T olive oil (To help absorb oil soluble vitamins.)

other herbs and spices to taste.

Simmer all together at least 1 hour up to all day.

 

    Then I drink the broth all day and eat the vegetables for meals. I do this (Daniel fast) for 1 to 3 days. I find my vision much clearer. My joints are much more fluid. Most importantly my relationship with God and others have dramatic breakthroughs.

Welcome to my first post!

I think that this all started when I quit smoking through Facebook. I turned my status into a type of blog and reached out to all of my friends and family of the past and present.

The reaction was incredible. So much support. I got tons of advice and love. My cure came from an old school friend whom I used to smoke with. He sent me a Cd set in the mail that worked!

Now after 33 years of smoking 10-20 cigarettes a day I am free! Yippee! All as it took was to admit to 400 or so people that I was not perfect and had a big problem. Presto... people like it when we admit that we are human.

As I look back on that journey (I will share the whole blog with you in a future post.) I see that I have so much more in me to share with you and so much more to learn from you!

I look forward to the future of this blog as we learn together.
